YOU’RE HIRED! Luton and Grantham’s apprentices fit for a job this summer
Attention all 16-18 year olds in Luton and Grantham! Looking for a job this summer? If you’re fanatical about fitness and serious about swimming, national training provider, Lifetime, wants to meet you. Lifetime is launching its government funded Fitness Instructor and Lifeguard Apprenticeship that not only offers young people ‘on the job’ work experience but, more importantly, a job on completion of their training.
The programme has been designed to provide a balance of theoretical learning inside the classroom and practical instruction in the workplace. Every apprentice enrolled onto the scheme will also be given full training in First Aid, and will learn how to provide strong customer service and sales skills.
Course intake will commence on Tuesday 19 July when school leavers are invited to an assessment day. The course will then commence just a week later, 25 July. All successful candidates will gain an industry-standard qualification; each apprentice is guaranteed a job with Leisure Connection after completing their training.
Anthony Wilkinson, Head of Programmes from Lifetime says: “Working in partnership with Leisure Connection, we can make a considerable difference to Grantham’s youth unemployment figures. All apprentices will learn how to design client-specific training programmes, and will also be given full instruction in anatomy and physiology. Upon completion of the scheme, each successful candidate will receive the National Pool and Lifeguard Qualification. School leavers do not want to miss out on this ideal opportunity to hit the ground running in the leisure and fitness industry!”
Lifetime and Leisure Connection aim to recruit 45 Fitness and Lifeguard apprentices.
All applications must be received before 12 July 2011. For more information please call 0845 123 8531 or email your CV to fitnessacademy@lifetimetraining.co.uk. All successful applicants will be asked to attend an assessment day on 19 July at:
