Calling all school leavers: are you up for the challenge of a Lifetime
Fancy being put through your paces and challenging your friends to a gladiator assault course, against the clock? On Saturday 14 May the ‘Have you got what it takes?’ assault course comes to Manchester.
Hosted by local training provider, Lifetime, the event will take place at The Print Works, between 12.00 and 18.00.
In a bid to engage with the City’s teenagers, and provide light relief from their forthcoming exams, Lifetime is offering school leavers the chance to prove just how well they can cope under pressure. They will have the chance to battle with life size obstacles, inflatables and space hoppers in an attempt to set the fastest time.
Delivering Government funded Apprenticeship programmes to 16-18 year olds, Lifetime’s career experts will also be on hand to advise young people of Manchester on their career opportunities.
In light of today’s increasingly difficult job ladder and entry into University, school leavers will need assistance to push beyond education, personal and employment barriers, allowing them to take control of their future. Rob Harris, Regional Tutor at Lifetime, says; “Have you got what it takes? will enthuse the teens of Manchester and empower them to believe in their ability to take on new challenges. For many youngsters applying for jobs can be a daunting experience, but we want these young adults to trust that they have what it takes to succeed.
“With rises in University tuition fees and high youth unemployment rates, it certainly is an overwhelming time for young people to be planning their futures. It is our responsibility to inform these individuals of the Government funded routes into employment available in Manchester. We are urging 16-18 year olds in the local area to come along, and find out just how they can benefit from a career in fitness, hospitality, adult and elderly care, or child care.”
Lifetime offers an array of Government funded Apprenticeship programmes. Courses include the Fitness Instructor Apprenticeship through the Lifetime Fitness Academy, Business and Administration, Customer Service, Hospitality Supervision and Leadership.
The event is taking place at The Printworks, 27 Withy Grove, Manchester, M4 2BS. The champion of the leader board will win £30 of high street shopping vouchers. To be in with a chance of being crowned the I’ve got what it takes! champion, you’ll need to be aged 15 years and over.
