Top 20 finalists announced for prestigious achievement awards
The 20 finalists for the
inaugural Lifetime Learner Achievement Awards have been announced.
Hosted at the Hilton Hotel, Warwick, the results will be revealed
at the Awards dinner, this Thursday, November 17 2011.
The awards, split into three categories (Open course, Academy programmes and Apprenticeships), recognise and celebrate the learning achievements, and resulting career and personal successes, of those who have completed a qualification with training provider, Lifetime. Founder of Lifetime, Heather Frankham, CEO David Foster and special guest Darren Campbell, Olympic Gold medallist, will present the three award winners, along with the Lifetime Learner Achievement Overall Award winner.
Heather Frankham says: "Our awards recognise how training, and the gaining of qualifications, can significantly impact upon the working lives and career aspirations of learners across the country. It is inspirational to hear how the learners' new found skills and knowledge within the industry have made a considerable difference to both their lives and those around them.
"We would like to congratulate our 20 finalists and look forward to meeting each and every one of them on Thursday."
Finalists will be welcomed to the Hilton Hotel, Warwick for a day of celebration this Thursday. Not only will they spend time with the judges, David Henwood (SkillsActive), Carole Bishop (Head of Lifetime Awarding) and Spencer Melhman (NotGoingToUni), film crew and photographer, they will also have the chance to test their circus skills, juggling and tightrope walking to name a few. This will be followed by a celebratory awards dinner.
130 nominations were received from across the country. A £500 prize and commemorative award is up for grabs. For further information please visit www.lifetimeawards.co.uk
