This Level 2 food qualification is aimed at people working
within the hospitality industry where beverage delivery is a
primary work activity, or for staff that work across a variety of
areas including front of house service, serving customers drinks
and food and showing customer care skills. If you are looking to
develop a career in food and drink service and wish to gain
qualifications and recognition for these skills, this programme is
ideal.
Throughout the programme learners will
gain a better understanding of beverage service hygiene, team
working, setting up and running the bar for service and dealing
with drink stock in the workplace.
Framework Structure
Learners will need to achieve the following three NVQ
mandatory units:
- 101 Maintain a safe, hygienic and secure working
environment
- 104 Work effectively as part of a hospitality team
- 201 Give customers a positive impression of yourself and your
organisation (ICS)
Learners will also complete the following NVQ optional
units:
- 211 Prepare and clear the bar area
- 212 Serve alcoholic and soft drinks
- 219 Receive, store and issue drinks stock
- 273 Promote additional services or products to customers
(ICS)
- 275 Maintain customer service through effective handover
(ICS)
- 205 Maintain and deal with payments
- 666 Employment rights and responsibilities in the hospitality,
leisure, travel and tourism sector
Funded learners will also complete the
following:
- Technical Certificate:

Beverage Service)

- Personal Learning and Thinking Skills
Programme Length
Apprenticeships typically take between 6-18 months to
complete.
