The Hospitality and Supervision Leadership Level 3 NVQ is an
extremely valuable programme for those wanting to pursue a
management position within the hospitality industry.
Learners will be able to choose from the following routes:
- Drinks Service
- Food Operations
- Food Service
- Functions
- Housekeeping
- Portering
- Reception
- Reservations
Throughout the programme you will learn
how to provide leadership to your team and develop your
relationships with your colleagues in order to improve customer
service, as well as learning more about health, hygiene, safety and
security in your working environment.
Framework Structure
Learners will need to achieve the following five NVQ
mandatory units:
- 401 (HSL1) Set objectives and provide support for team
members
- 402 (HSL2) Develop productive working relationships with
colleagues
- 403 (HSL3) Contribute to the control of resources
- 404 (HSL4) Maintain the health, hygiene, safety and security of
the working environment
- 405 (HSL5) Lead a team to improve customer service
Learners will also complete one of the following NVQ
Section B optional units:
- 407 (HSL7) Supervise food production operations
- 408 (HSL8) Supervise functions
- 410 (HSL10) Supervise food services
- 411 (HSL11) Supervise drink services
- 417 (HSL17) Supervise housekeeping services
- 420 (HSL20) Supervise portering and concierge services
- 421 (HSL21) Supervise reception services
- 422 (HSL22) Supervise reservation and booking services
Learners will also complete the following NVQ Section C
optional unit:
- 423 Improve the customer relationship
- 424 Support learning and development within own area of
responsibility
Funded learners will also complete the
following:
- Technical Certificate:
- Level 3 Award in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership

Programme Length
Apprenticeships typically take between 6-18 months to
complete.
