This programme is essential for anyone working in the
housekeeping or hotel industry or where the main job role is to
provide housekeeping service.
Throughout the level 2 Housekeeping NVQ
you will also touch on basic customer service relevant to your
role. Upon successful completion candidates can progress onto
additional housekeeping qualifications if their job role is
sufficient to warrant the extra responsibility of a supervisory
level.
Framework Structure
Learners will need to achieve the following three NVQ
mandatory units:
- 101 Maintain a safe, hygienic and secure working
environment
- 104 Work effectively as part of a hospitality team
- 264 Cleaning and servicing a range of housekeeping areas
Learners will complete the following NVQ optional
units:
- 137 Collect linen and make beds
- 265 Use of different chemicals and equipment in
housekeeping
- 266 Maintain housekeeping supplies
- 268 Clean and maintain soft floors and furnishings (Asset
Skills)
- 270 Carry out periodic room servicing and deep cleaning
- 201 Give customers a positive impression of yourself and your
organisation (ICS)
- 275 Maintain customer service through effective handover
(ICS)
- 666 Employment rights and responsibilities in the hospitality,
leisure, travel and tourism sector
Funded learners will also complete the
following:
- Technical Certificate:
- Level 2 Award in Hospitality and Catering Principles
(Housekeeping)
- Key Skills (if required):
- Level 1 Application of Number
- Level 1 Communication
- Personal Learning and Thinking Skills
Programme Length
Apprenticeships typically take between 6-18 months to
complete.
