• Welcome to the Advanced Biomechanics Coach workshop in association with Intelligent Training Systems. This one of a kind course is designed for level 3 Personal Trainers who wish to advance their skills in screening clients and prescribing exercise that will help improve their function.

  This is the second module in the Specialist Biomechanics Coaching Diploma and you will need to have completed the first module (Biomechanics Coach) before you are able to progress on to module two (Advanced Biomechanics Coach).

  Once you have completed this workshop you will be registered with ITS as an Advanced Biomechanics Coach. You will then have the option to work towards the full Diploma by completing the third and last module (Specialist Biomechanics Coach).

    This covers assessment and prescription of exercises for muscle function, motor control and nerve release to enable clients to perform at optimum levels. Click to view module detail

    • Module Two: Advanced Biomechanics Coach

      This covers assessment and prescription of exercises for muscle function, motor control and nerve release to enable clients to perform at optimum levels. It looks at how to isolate muscles and the structure of dysfunction and then work with the client to support rehabilitation and conditioning to improve function. It covers screening for the knee, foot and ankle, the prescription of orthotics and individual functional exercise prescription.

      By the end of this module you will be able to:

      - Demonstrate the ability to create an individualised exercise programme based on an individuals screening results and previous biomechanical history
      - Demonstrate excellent coaching skills to enable your client/patient to understand your findings
      - Demonstrate how to biomechanically assess the knee, foot and ankle joint

• Entry requirements

  A REPs recognised level 3 Personal Trainer qualification is required prior to commencing this course. You will also need to have completed module one (Biomechanics Coach) before you are able to progress on to module two (Advanced Biomechanics Coach).

  If you wish to work towards your Specialist Biomechanics Coaching Diploma with level 4 REPS you will need to complete all three modules in the correct order as well as have completed Exercise Referral.

  Assessment

  Assessment is carried out via a variety of methods including case studies, reports, online worksheets and practical exams.
