• Welcome to the Biomechanics Coach workshop in association with Intelligent Training Systems. This one of a kind course is designed for level 3 Personal Trainers who wish to advance their skills in screening clients and prescribing exercise that will help improve their function.

  It is the first module in the Specialist Biomechanics Coaching Diploma but can also be completed as a standalone CPD. Once you have completed the workshop you will be registered with ITS as a Biomechanics Coach. You then have the option to work towards the full Diploma by completing the remaining two modules in order.

    This covers a thorough screening protocol of the client, looking at each area of the body to identify key areas of dysfunction. Click to view module detail

    • Module One: Biomechanics Coach

      This covers a thorough screening protocol of the client, looking at each area of the body to identify key areas of dysfunction. Based on the screening results you can then prescribe specific exercises to improve function. Screening covers the shoulder, spine, pelvis and core. You also revisit kinesiology to give you a deeper understanding of muscle actions.

      By the end of this module you will be able to:

      - Demonstrate pelvic mobility, nerve mobility, muscle spasm and spinal mobility screens
      - Demonstrate the ability to assess core function
      - Demonstrate how to structure an individual core conditioning programme
      - Demonstrate how to biomechanically assess the shoulder girdle and the Gleno-Humeral joint
      - Demonstrate the ability to create an individualised exercise programme based on an individuals screening results and previous biomechanical history
      - Demonstrate excellent coaching skills to enable your client/patient to understand your findings

• Entry requirements

  A REPs recognised level 3 Personal Trainer qualification is required prior to commencing this course. This qualification should have been completed within the last five years or proof of your current REPs status will also be required. An original copy of your certificate(s) will need to be presented to your tutor on your first attendance course or assessment.

  If you wish to work towards your Specialist Biomechanics Coaching Diploma with level 4 REPS you will need to complete all three modules in order as well as have completed Exercise Referral.

  Assessment

  Assessment is carried out via a variety of methods including case studies, reports, presentations, online worksheets and practical exams.

  On successful completion of this workshop you will receive 16 REPs points.
