Apprentices will have the same rights, working conditions and protections as other employees of a similar level in your business. This includes sick pay, holidays, and benefits, redundancy and notice period.
The apprenticeship agreement will contain the usual employee rights found in a contract of employment, including notice period. An employer must prove they are not breaking commitments made in the apprentice agreement when dismissing an apprentice.
Like any contract of employment, it’s advisable to have the disciplinary process written into the apprenticeship agreement.
