Summary

We are looking to recruit an Administrator who will act as support for all depts within the business to help the smooth running of the branch within each dept. Through general administration duties, the successful applicant will learn what accounts, sales and operations do and how each contributes the success of the business. You will learn face to face customer service and skills though processing cash sales and collections. You will build telephone and email customer service skills through answering incoming telephone calls and emails, solving queries and contacting customers to ensure invoices are paid on time. You will build a strong knowledge of construction products, the importance of branding and first impressions.
You will also learn the importance of keeping detailed and accurate records through preparing, sending and filing invoices, maintaining accurate records, controlling petty cash and monitoring stock. This will involve building attention to detail and IT skills through using our computer system, Babbage, as well as MS office applications such as Excel.
You will be working in a busy and varied environment which will enable you to develop your team working and prioritisation skills.

To be eligible for the Kickstart programme you will need to be:
• Referred by your Jobcentre Work Coach
• Aged 16-24
• Unemployed and have been in receipt of Universal Credit for 6 months or more
• Be available to work for 25+ hours per week
• Be able to undertake a 6-month training programme
Future prospects
The Kickstart Scheme as part of the Governments Plan for Jobs is to support people to develop new skills and to help them into sustained employment. With your new skills, you will be equipped to look for long-term employment.
Training to be delivered
You will receive health and safety training and on the job training for all aspects of your role. Live sessions for Induction and Culture and Values are run weekly and all new starters are expected to attend. We also produce a weekly calendar of live webinars, which is open to all employees, and covers topics such as product training and mental health awareness training as well as other skills relevant to the job role.
Through the training partnership between SIG Plc and Lifetime Training, you will be allocated a workplace coach and will receive employability training to cover the following:

• Becoming the perfect candidate
• Personal development
• Building relationships
• CV development
• Career planning
• Interview skills
At the end of the work placement, you will have the chance to complete a mock interview and will receive detailed feedback on your performance.
