For over 20 years, public sector employers like the NHS, Civil Service and Local Authorities have chosen Lifetime as their training partner and provider.

Public sector employers have unique needs, so our curriculum and delivery are tailor made. We’re proud to say we’ve helped 17 public sector bodies not only meet but exceed their annual apprenticeship target, while encouraging growth in key areas and filling skills gaps.

Together, we’ve successfully delivered more than 6,000 apprenticeship programmes through strong strategic partnerships with key civil service departments, in addition to our 83 NHS and Local Authority partners nationally.

Over the last five years, we’re proud to have trained more people that anyone else to start careers within the NHS delivering more than 1,500 entry level apprenticeships.

As the first rung on the career ladder, these apprenticeships develop key skills, improve patient care, and help people continue their professional journey within the NHS. And by opening apprenticeships to a wider spectrum of people, the NHS helps a more diverse workforce go even further.

Working with several civil service departments, like the DfT and Department of Work and Pensions, we’ve delivered high quality apprenticeship programmes at speed and at scale, helping to further strengthen the skills base while people build their careers.

We’re here to help you invest in your community with apprenticeships. Local government and councils cover a wide variety of roles, sectors and training requirements, where developing and delivering robust apprenticeship training programmes requires not just experience, but also an understanding of local nuances.

With a commitment to social value, investing in people’s careers and offering job opportunities is an essential part of our apprenticeship training approach. Over the last 10 years we’ve worked with over 50 councils and local government organisations all over the UK, helping their apprentices and organisations thrive.

Social mobility, diversity and inclusion

We’re fully committed to social mobility across all our practices and processes, and have adapted campaigns to actively promote apprenticeships to people with limited access to training. Around 25% of Lifetime apprentices come from locations deemed disadvantaged, showing the invaluable role apprenticeships can play as an education tool in these areas.

Recruiting externally and improving access to training reaches and empowers more people in underrepresented communities, disadvantaged locations and low socio-economic groups. Driving social mobility and building a more inclusive workforce, means you gain far more than just increased apprentice numbers.

Crown Commercial Accreditation

As a Crown Commercial approved provider (which includes the CCS Apprenticeship Framework), we’re also proud to play our part in helping public sector organisations improve the UK workforce with apprenticeship training.

We work closely with procurement hubs, are adept and experienced within approved frameworks, and our bid team offers impartial advice on how to best to navigate and manage them.
