The Proof is in the Pudding!

Jurys Inn Birmingham on Broad Street will play host to its inaugural apprentice cook-off tomorrow, Wednesday 16th April. Four chef apprentice finalists will battle it out to be crowned Jurys Inn ‘Young Chef of the Year’.

The apprentices, who have been tutored by hospitality learning and development specialists Lifetime Training, for the last 12 months will be judged on their cooking preparation, technique, final dishes and implementation of their Apprenticeship learning.

To demonstrate their newly acquired skills, they have all been asked to cook one portion of each of the following main courses within two hours:

Cook-Off Menu Roast Lamb Cutlets with a Maris Piper potato rosti, piperade & mint pesto

Seared Seabass with an asparagus & pea risotto and horseradish crème fraiche

Mystery Dessert apprentices will be given a secret selection of ingredients on the day
