New Hospitality Trailblazer Group led by Hilton Worldwide
Alongside Hilton Worldwide, who in partnership with Lifetime Training deliver an enhanced Apprenticeship model, this employer trailblazer group also includes Compass Group, Dorchester Collection, and Whitbread.
The Trailblazer projects have been set up by the Government following recommendations made during Doug Richard’s review of Apprenticeships in 2012.
Together with People 1st Hilton Worldwide will now consult on new Apprenticeship standards for professional chefs and tourism supervisors and managers. The new standards will be available from this summer, though they won't become industry standard until at least 2017.
Ben Bengougam, vice-president of human resources EMEA, Hilton Worldwide, said:
“Hilton Worldwide employs hundreds of apprentices each year, so we were keen to take a leading role in the development of the new standards while showcasing what a thriving industry we are part of and the fantastic career opportunities available.”
Martin-Christian Kent, research and policy director at People 1st, added:
“The government clearly recognises that our industry plays a huge role in the UK economy and has made hospitality and tourism a trailblazer industry, so we’re keen to make sure everyone is clear about the potential implications of changes to the apprenticeship system.
