Leicester Apprentices Pose as Mystery Guests for National Apprenticeship Week
To mark National Apprenticeship Week 2014, chef apprentices based at the Hilton Leicester hotel took time out of their busy schedules to pose as mystery guests.
As part of their Apprenticeships, the apprentices - Liam Davy, 18, from Wigston, and Darren Setford, 20, from Braunstone – were asked to review the overall guest experience, from the welcome and arrival to facilities and food.
Darren started his Apprenticeship training last October and has thoroughly enjoyed the experience to date.
“Previously I was training to be an electrician but was really interested in a career in hospitality. I found out about the Apprenticeship through the job centre website. I’m so pleased I did it. It’s given me so much more confidence in my abilities. After my Apprenticeship I hope to progress through the ranks and hopefully one day become a head chef.”
Darren adds: “It’s important to be reminded of the guest’s perspective, seeing our efforts through their eyes, to ensure we are always meeting their needs. This is a great opportunity to share our ideas and opinions.”
