An exciting career in Hospitality could be one step away today, as the British Hospitality Association (BHA), backed by some of the largest employers in the country announced that 6,000 new Hospitality jobs will be created for 16 to 24 year olds this year.
This statement comes as more than 100 Hospitality businesses, including Greene King meet at the Big Hospitality Conversation at London’s City Hall, to give talks and offer ‘on-the-spot’ jobs to young job seekers.
This announcement forms part of a wider recruitment drive in the Hospitality industry, with 300,000 jobs expected to be filled by 2020 reflecting rapid expansion in this sector.
Around 60,000 of these new jobs will be held for 16 to 24 year olds to help reduce the not in education, employment or training (NEET) population.
The Big Hospitality Conversation backed by brands such as Hilton Worldwide, Greene King, and Pizza Express, has created 34,000 jobs to date at events like the one in City Hall.
Ufi Ibrahim, BHA chief executive, said, “The breadth of job roles and the training available means that bright and focused young people can succeed very quickly.”
To enable young people to take their first steps into a new and exciting career, Lifetime Training offers job seeker support and a new Hospitality Traineeship programme that offers real work experience with big brands that lead to real jobs.
