Congrats! Awards success for employers and apprentices
The National Apprenticeship Awards 2017 regional finalists have been announced and our congratulations go out to all our employer partners and apprentices for taking part in the process and showcasing their achievements.
Huge congratulations go out to Lifeways, Greene King, Marston’s, Redrow Homes, Aldi and Places for People Leisure and their apprentices for their achievements this year.
Social care provider Lifeways was named a Regional Finalist for North West Apprenticeship Employer of the Year. The country’s leading pub retailer and brewer, Greene King, was named a Regional Finalist for East of England Apprenticeship Employer of the Year.
Meanwhile, the UK’s leading residential housing developer, Redrow Homes, is competing alongside one of the UK’s fastest growing supermarket chains, Aldi, for West Midlands Apprenticeship Employer of the Year.

Aaron Jones of Places for People Leisure was announced as a West Midlands Apprentice of the Year Regional Finalist.
Our employers and apprentices beat off competition from almost 800 entries. 91 employers and 84 individuals are competing for awards across ten categories in the regional stage of the National Apprenticeship Awards 2017.
The National Apprenticeship Awards challenge top apprenticeship employers and apprentices across England to come forward and show how apprenticeships have made a real difference to their organisation and careers.
The 2017 awards, run by government apprenticeship agency the National Apprenticeship Service are now in their 14th year. Sue Husband, director of the National Apprenticeship Service said:
“The regional finalists announced today demonstrate promise and drive and have a real enthusiasm for the apprenticeship programme. Our finalists show clearly the impact of apprenticeships on skills and on how businesses perform. I applaud every finalist for getting this far and I look forward to celebrating the achievements and loyalty of winners. I wish everyone the best as we move into the next phase of this competition.”
Winners and highly commended entries from all regions across England will be recognised at one of six celebration events held across the country this autumn. After the regional ceremonies, winners will progress to the next stage of the competition, where their applications will be assessed by a national judging panel. National finalists will be announced in December and will be invited to a national, final ceremony on 18 January 2018 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
