Apprenticeships: Meet Sarah...
Sarah was employed as a Health and Social Care Level 2 Apprentice at HC One, Sunderland. Over the last year she has excelled in her position giving residents a quality of care beyond the expectations of her manager and fitting into the team at HC One perfectly.
We are thrilled to hear of Sarah’s success and even more thrilled to hear that she was recently made a permanent member of staff before her apprenticeship had even ended. Her employers wanted to solidify her position in the team.
“I always wanted to work in care, it’s such a passion of mine. I’m naturally a caring person and knew it was something I would enjoy. I genuinely love my job!Through my Youth Employment Officer, I was recommended to apply for a Care apprenticeship through Lifetime Training. I applied for the position through their website. It was really straight forward, the easiest job application process I’ve had. The support before and during the interview was brilliant. The apprenticeship itself was great. Any questions I had or support I needed was always provided from my Regional Trainer or Manager.I’m about to start my Level 3 now and am looking forward to gaining more knowledge to help me towards my goals of becoming a Mental Health Nurse.”
Lisa Morehead, Sarah’s Manager said:
“Sarah is the first apprentice I have recruited here. To be honest I was hesitant about someone so young working in what can be quite a tough environment. But then I thought we need to give young people a chance and I am so glad I did. Sarah is a little star, a complete natural at the job. She is calm, resilient and a perfect fit in our team and I wanted to make sure she was a permanent member of staff. It has been such a successful recruitment that I have since recruited two more apprentices from Lifetime as the process works so fantastically.”
Congratulations Sarah and good luck on your Level 3 qualification!
