NAW17: Wow, what a week?!
Well, that went by in a flash didn’t it? In addition to Lifetime Training’s #careergoal apprentice selfie campaign and our employer apprenticeship pledges, the first day of National Apprenticeship Week 2017 (NAW17) saw a Mitchells & Butlers apprentice, Adam Cox, interviewed on BBC Radio Sheffield. He talked about how varied his apprenticeship was and the opportunity for progression.
Hilton held apprenticeship events at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole to support its apprentice recruitment drive on 6th and 8th March 2017.
Care employer Advance shared a short film on YouTube demonstrating just how committed they are to apprentices and their apprenticeship programme.
Meanwhile, Marston’s apprentices were invited to the Houses of Parliament on the Tuesday to mark National Apprenticeships Week. Invited as guests of Burton MP, Andrew Griffiths the eight-strong team of apprentices challenged their local MP’s hospitality skills to help champion the vibrant Pub, Bar, Brewing and Casual Dining industry.
Joanne Bradford, Apprenticeship Manager for Marston’s PLC commented:
Four of Lifetime Training’s TGI Fridays apprentices, past and current, went to the House of Commons on the Thursday to discuss their apprenticeships and their experiences through the training they have received. They had the opportunity to rub shoulders with 64 MPs, 100 apprentices, the trade associations, press and parents who attended the event yesterday and not forgetting some TGI’s apprentices above.
Greene King also ran an apprentice recruitment event and reaffirmed its commitment to easing the hospitality industry skills gap.
