Six Top Beauty Tips for Women

2017 is with us and, if we’re being honest, isn’t it about time we upped our beauty game just that little bit? Doing the same things every day not only gets boring, it stops us learning and growing. So in this guide, we’re going to share with you six essential beauty tips to help you look your best every single day. Let’s get started!

  • Reset your hair washing routine

So many of us get caught up in the daily wash, rinse, repeat cycle that we forget the damage it might be doing to our hair. Instead, reset your cycle and get back on track. Whilst fine hair usually has to be washed once a day, medium hair only needs shampooing two or three times a week. Thick hair, meanwhile, only needs shampooing one a week.  The rest of the time, a good wash in water does the job nicely.

  • Wear sun cream every day

Sun cream, in England? Yes! Regardless of how often the sun is out, UV rays are an ever present part of the world around us and a constant threat to the health of our skin. Premature aging, skin cancer and other nasty effects are all real possibilities, so invest in a moisturiser which includes UV protection.

  • Always remove makeup before bed

We get it, you had a big night and when you get home you just want to collapse into bed, makeup be damned. Well, that’s not the brightest idea. One night won’t make a world of difference, but the more nights you spend in your makeup, the more clogged your pores become. This can lead to the formation of microcomedone, which attracts acne-causing bacterium. Nasty!

  • Give your skin a holiday

Makeup is, for many of us, a protective barrier to the rest of the world, making us feel beautiful and ready to take on the challenges of life. Unfortunately, it has a host of negative effects on the skin, especially if you’re prone to sensitivity. That’s why we always recommend taking a break from makeup for a few weeks a year. You’ll see the benefits giving your skin a chance to reset brings.

  • Bring more Omega-3 into your diet

Omega-3 has a huge range of benefits for the human body, but most interestingly for us it has huge benefits for the skin. Omega-3 helps hydrate the skin from the inside out and reduce the inflammation that can cause redness. If you don’t like foods high in Omega-3 (like salmon), consider taking it as a supplement in pill form.

  • Exercise

Raising your heart rate once a day makes your skin glow because exercise improves circulation and oxygen capacity. This, in turn improves your complexion. Your skin is loaded with endorphin receptors, which also goes some way to explaining exactly why skin reacts so positively to aerobic exercise.
