Looking for seasonal work?

Seasonal work is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door with an employer and gain some experience that will most certainly give your CV a boost (plus the extra dosh definitely comes in handy when planning all those Christmas festivities).

Don’t be short-sighted though. A job is still a job, whether it’s short-term, part-time, fixed-term (we could go on). It’s you, proving your worth to a prospective employer, so your commitment and conduct should reflect this. Think of it as a suite of trial shifts; if you show you’re willing  and capable, who do you think will pop in their minds when a full-time permanent role becomes available? YOU!

So prep for the interview as you would a permanent role (read our top tips here), show that you’re passionate and not using it to tide you over until something better comes along and have the conversation about your longer-term plans; tell them that you’d like to be considered if anything more permanent becomes available.

Of course, you could just skip the seasonal work and go straight for a full-time apprenticeship. It’ll mean steady, full-time work for at least a year, all the benefits that comes with being an employee plus you’ll get a qualification at the end of it.

If an apprenticeship is more what you’re looking for, head over to our job board where there’s over 1,000 vacancies to choose from.

Good luck!
