Why Zara did her Level 2 Food and Beverage apprenticeship...
Zara has been working at Nugget for 18 months; she's worked in different bars before, but did not have much experience with food. Therefore, Zara wanted to get a qualification to help her with the food side of the business and be recognised for her knowledge and experience.
She chose the apprenticeship as it was available to her and was a way of progressing in her role. She said:
"It seemed to be a good option to progress to Team Leader and I thought this would be a good start for me. I was able to do the work whilst at work and around times that suited me.
Since doing the qualification I have been given more responsibility on the floor, and have been training the younger floor staff to ensure brand standards are always met.
I would like to do the next qualification to work towards Team Coach/ Shift Supervisor with the aim of one day running my own pub. I enjoyed doing my Level 2 and I would like to do as many qualifications as I can so that I can progress and improve in my job role."
