Microdermabrasion, and why you’ll love it

We’ve put together a hit list of everything you need to know to decide if it’s for you. (We reckon it will be – you’ll soon see why!)

What is microdermabrasion?
It’s a skincare treatment that rejuvenates the surface of your skin. It does this by massaging your complexion with tiny crystals. These are designed to remove the outer layer of dead cells – these are gently drawn away along with the crystals to leave your face looking refreshed and cleansed.
You should see results from the first treatment – expect younger, healthier-looking skin. With each treatment, your skin’s appearance will improve thanks to boosted collagen and elastin production. Nice!

How can it benefit my skin?

Tailored to suit you.
Because this treatment’s settings are fully adjustable, therapists are able to personalise your microdermabrasion session to suit your skin type.

• You’re good to go.
There’s no recovery time needed, so this is easy to fit into your lunchbreak with no worries of red skin afterwards.

• Long-lasting results.
From the first session, the elasticity of your skin will be improved, leaving you with a smoother, younger-looking complexion.

Can it treat skin conditions?
Microdermabrasion is a real all-rounder when it comes to combatting skin issues. It’s a great option for treating uneven skin tone and pigmentation, as well as fading acne scarring. Its ability to reveal fresh new skin cells helps to combat dull or aging skin, and improve stretchmarks and fine lines. Talk to your dermatologist if you have any particular skin gripes in mind that you’d like to fix, and they’ll let you know if this is the treatment for you.

Are there any side effects I should know about?
Always check with your beautician beforehand, though, to check a treatment is suitable for you. But as long as it’s performed correctly, you should have no issues with this treatment. If anything, your skin may feel a little tight, but this should ease off within 24 hours.
