Plus, people love to have their concerns and opinions heard - so don't be afraid to ask as many questions as possible to get a picture of what they want clear in your head. It's always better to clarify things rather than to assume.

2: Communication counts
With asking plenty of questions in mind, keeping the channels of communication open generally is crucial while working as a beauty therapist. Stay warm and welcoming, but always polite and professional - while it's best to be on friendly terms with your clients, remember that you're there to offer a paid-for service rather than be their friend. 

Ultimately, though, as long your customers know that you always listen to them and put their beauty needs first, you'll always have a loyal customer base.

3: It's all about confidence
Put your clients at ease by being calm and collected. From the moment you welcome them at the door to when you wave them off after their treatment, give your clients confidence in you by having confidence in yourself. 

Consider your body language and personal presentation to make sure you're giving off the right message - maintain eye contact when you're speaking to clients, and greet them with a firm, professional handshake.

4: Build relationships
Building up a rapport with each of your clients is as an essential part of being a beauty therapist as performing great treatments. Clients are most likely to return to salons where they feel a friendly connection with the beautician. 

That said, it's also important to learn where you can improve as a beautician by asking for honest feedback from your customer base. Client feedback forms can be a handy way to gather both positive and negative input from your clients, and to help you learn how you can improve the service you offer.
