Main Image

How long have you been working at Iceland and why did you start?
5 Years. This was my second time working here found you get to speak to people face to face rather than on the phone like my old job and get more variety than office work.

What apprenticeship did you study?
Level 3 Retail Team Leader

Had you completed any apprenticeships, college or university before? If yes, what did you complete?
A Levels was the last exams I did in six form.

How are you looking to use your apprenticeship going forward in your career?
To help me to learn new things, build my confidence doing the job, and working to perform better in my role.

What has surprised you most about the apprenticeship/ unexpected benefits?
It really helps you to learn things on the job, so you can learn at your own speed and get taken out of your comfort zone, which pushes you to do things you normally try to avoid.

What have you enjoyed since completing the apprenticeship? (Progression? Responsibility?)
I have enjoyed learning as I went, the progress I have made in my job, and new responsibility as I have different things to do every day.

What do you enjoy most about working at Iceland?
The thing I enjoy most about working at Iceland is meeting new people, getting to work as part of team, and every day have something different to deal with.

Why did you choose an apprenticeship route over others?
You could learn at your own speed and get plenty of advice and support from trainers and staff who are already supervisors or above.

What’s advice would you give to others starting the apprenticeship now, and what tips would you give around EPA?
It’s a great way to learn, and there's plenty of support and help when needed. If you're ever stuck, you could ask for advice as everyone is helpful and friendly.
