How long have you been working at Iceland and why did you start?
5 years, started in September 2014 with the first food warehouse, Trent Vale.
What apprenticeship are you studying?
Level 3 Team Leader
Have you completed any apprenticeships or training courses before?
No, aside from standard GCSE’s and A-Levels.
What are you most looking forward to about the apprenticeship/training/completing?
Going into and opening a new store.
What has surprised you most about the apprenticeship so far?
How similar it was to Business A-Level.
What have you enjoyed? (Progression? Responsibility? Fuse?)
Doing a deep dive into the business project.
How will it help you get on in work and with your professional development?
The ability to analyse Quantative data and then translate it into a format that can be presented to an audience.
What do you enjoy most about working at Iceland?
Why did you choose an apprenticeship route over others?
Having not gone to University I actually missed academic study, so when I was made aware Iceland were offering an apprenticeship it was what I was missing.
What’s the best thing you have learned and how has this helped you in your job role?
The legal side of running a store, from HR to health and safety and then food safety.
