How long have you been working at Iceland and why did you start?
5 years, I wanted a career in management.
What apprenticeship are you studying?
Level 4 retail management.
Have you completed any apprenticeships or training courses before?
What are you most looking forward to about the apprenticeship/training/completing?
Having a nationally recognised qualification that shows my knowledge, and could possibly help me in future job roles.
What has surprised you most about the apprenticeship so far?
How much the apprenticeship is related to Iceland and not just generic. All knowledge I can use in my actual role.
What have you enjoyed? (Progression? Responsibility? Fuse?)
Learning things that can help me in my day to day role, e.g. how different people learn in different ways.
How will it help you get on in work and with your professional development?
It has taught me better people and management skills, knowledge that could help me in future roles.
What do you enjoy most about working at Iceland?
Working with a variety of different people every day and I enjoy working within a team.
Why did you choose an apprenticeship route over others?
Gave me the possibility of a better future as well as improving my opportunities.
What’s the best thing you have learned and how has this helped you in your job role?
I’ve learnt about different Leadership styles and how I need to adapt myself for different stores and colleagues.
