We Do Tennis
Assist senior coaches and management in a number of different aspects of We Do tennis, including tennis coaching in venues, parks, schools and SEN provision and general admin duties.

At We Do Tennis you will work towards your L2 Community Activator Coach Apprenticeship Qualification over the course of 15-18 Months.

At We Do Tennis you will:
- Get paid for getting people engaged and active through playing tennis across the Manchester region
- Familiarise yourself with LTA products such as LTA Youth and LTA Youth Schools as well as more inclusive opportunities such as Walking Tennis for those living with poor mobility and long term illness.
- Assist and coach tennis and physical activity sessions to local communities, young and old, schools and other educational settings.
- Get the chance to learn new skills, meet new people and be guided by a number of senior coaches and management, as well as the opportunity to take and achieve a Level 1 Tennis Assistant qualification as a minimum.
- Make a positive difference within your community and be a part of a growing sport within the City.
- Have the opportunity to become trained further in tennis and achieve qualifications.

You will be on a Community Activator Coach apprenticeship, which allows you to get a qualification and get paid to do it! Your qualification will be delivered by Lifetime Training, but you will be part of the Coach Core family- giving you access to loads of extra perks, including kit, training from partners such as UK Coaching and the chance to coach at local/regional sporting events.

Desired Skills

Possess excellent communication skills, verbally and written with colleagues, young people, and other individuals. Possess excellent time management and organisational skills. Begin to learn a customer focused approach to your work. Ability to work on own initiative. Ability to work with young people and adults from varying backgrounds and with children/adults with specific needs. An interest and knowledge of tennis is expected as part of this role.

Personal qualities

You must be enthusiastic about wanting to work within tennis and physical activity sector and be committed to inspiring others to be more physically active.
An individual is works well alone or as part of a small team, a good communicator with a passion for sport.
A personal drive and ambition to better themselves on a daily basis.

No prior coaching experience is required, but a willingness to learn, work hard and challenge yourself is essential.

Qualifications required

Ideally a minimum of Maths and English Grade 4 or above but this is not essential and if required, can be achieved whilst on the apprenticeship scheme.

Future prospects

Potential to achieve a Level 1 Tennis Assistant or even further, Level 2 Instructor qualification in tennis which enables the individual to lead on their own group sessions.
A potential for the correct individual to make this vacancy more permanent after the apprenticeship has been completed with a full time role on offer.

Community Activator Coach Apprenticeship L2 including Functional Skills in Maths and English

We Do Tennis work with tennis clubs of all sizes throughout the UK, helping to improve their tennis coaching programmes and tennis club operations.
