Swimming Instruction & Support
1. Assist qualified swimming teachers in delivering engaging and effective swimming lessons for all ages and abilities (from non-swimmers to advanced)
2. Support the setup and tidying away of swimming lesson equipment safely and efficiently
3. Observe and learn how to plan progressive swimming lessons tailored to individual and group needs with an opportunity to understand a formal qualification
4. Assist with assessing swimmer progress
5. Develop an understanding of child development, and how to communicate effectively with children
6. Develop an understanding of Water Safety and Rescue Techniques
7. To participate in Swim Academy Meetings
Back Office Administration
1. Assist in the sales and marketing of swimming lessons
2. Assist with customer enquiries, by providing exceptional customer service to all members and visitors, and dealing with concerns in a professional and friendly manner
3. Assist with co-ordination of swim school, dealing with non-attendance and moves
4. Assist with ad-hoc projects as required by the Swim Academy Lead and Leisure General Manager
Leisure Centre Operation
1. Learn to use the centres IT systems, including front of house and booking systems
2. Assist with other teams if the need arises
3. Contribute to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety throughout the centre
What the apprenticeship includes:
1. A mixture of face to face and online catch ups every 4 - 6 weeks to discuss feedback and progress
2. A mixture of on and off the job training, including workshops and webinars
3. Reviews every 12 weeks with your Line Manager and apprenticeship Trainer
4. The chance to get Functional Skills in English and Maths (if you don’t already have GCSE)
5. Working towards a Level 2 Community Activator Coach apprenticeship over the course of 12-18 months
